STM, besides the visible red light fork series, can offer in the same housing a range of class 2 red laser fork sensors.
The compact fork system generates a laser beam with a very small red light spot, able to get constant under 0,1mm resolutions over the width of the fork, allowing to detect objects in a precise and reliable way at any point between emitter and receiver.
The collimation of the beam allows a high reading accuracy and a near-zero hysteresis. The two-dimensional receiver allows to keep the nominal resolution even in the presence of slight mechanical deformations and ensures excellent performance on transparent objects.
Both versions (with PNP and NPN output) are available. Light-on or dark-on is selectable on board. The response frequency is 3 kHz, making the laser series suitable for fast counting and controlling applications.
The laser series housing is the same of the standard visible red light one. This robust housing guarantees mechanical stability, a key condition for a highly accurate, reliable and durable system.
Possible applications: counting and controlling small components in the handling process and assembly.
